Here I hope to establish a home, one among many, for Critical Thinking, Skepticism, Humanism, Atheism and debunking bad science.
There are certainly plenty of places on the 'net to discuss these topics but I wanted somewhere I could write about some of the topics that I find of most interest or annoyance!
I also hope to convince others to contribute works and make this place useful.
Please feel free to leave a comment.
Simple question... why do Christians believe in Heaven and Hell? Why do they condemn me to Hell?
- If Satan wants you to sin why would he punish you for it?
- If God is all forgiving why would he send anyone to hell?
- If someone is indoctrinated into Hinduism for example and doesn't convert to Christianity on the say-so of a single preacher, why do they deserve eternal punishment anyway?
- What kind of people would actually agree that a system of rules that involves an eternal punishment for people like those above is a good system and worth 'signing up' to?
I've signed up at Atheist Nexus. I like the look and feel of the place but am just getting settled in. I'll be keeping my blog here though. At least for now. I like my advert-free hosting!
You can find my page here.
I just wrote this letter to my local council... I'm fed up of being told I have to recycle and finally got around to doing something about it.
Also check out The Eight Great Myths of Recycling (PDF). The author is a published Professor of Economics and the Article is well referenced.
Just in case you thought there really was any Christian basis for Easter being when it is... google for your favourite Goddess Eostre!
There are a number of places around to find Atheist groups of people. In this day of Social Network Websites it extends beyond simple Forums. Facebook has a number of groups for example but Facebook is a monstrously obese pile of steaming turds these days.
So check out the various Atheist groups over at Ning.com. The humour section in Atheist Nexus is particularly good!

Really sums up the stupidity of Christianity's basic underpinnings.
This UN Resolution is an absolute travesty. The Muslim block on the UN want to make it illegal to criticise Religion! Someone else already summed up this story so I'll link to their comments...
I've added quite a bit of comedic music to my collection lately.
Firstly there was The Amateur Transplants. They are two doctors who got together while medical students and created some very funny and at time absolutely improper songs mostly about their studies. Some of the profits from their sales go to charity.
Next there was Otis Lee Crenshaw (a.k.a Rich Hall). He doesn't appear to have a homepage. I'm not a fan of country or blues at all but when the songs are as funny as these it doesn't matter. Here's one song for ya!
This is a great little video showing the relative sizes of planets and stars. Really impressive!
